September 2026 JRBA Newsletter

As summer transitions into Fall, one of the busiest times of year, let’s keep our focus on sharing the Gospel and helping to meet the needs of folks both locally and around the world. As I shared last month, we have met our goal for Rise Against Hunger and have recently signed a contract with them to package approximately 20,000 meals on October 25 th at Maysville Baptist Church. Austin will be sending out a link for folks to preregister online to volunteer to help with the event. This will help to streamline registration on the day of the event. We will need about 100 volunteers that day to do the job. Churches and individuals have done a great job with contributions. Now let’s recruit some helpers. As a matter of information, we did receive a $1,000 contribution from the BGAV World Hunger Fund to help with this event.
A member of one of our churches called to inquire about Hope for Appalachia this fall. The church member did call Rev. Woody Moore. I received a call from him and he will have a team taking items to Kentucky in late November. If individuals or churches would like to participate, you can collect new children’s hats, coats, gloves, and blankets for his team to take. They should be delivered to Tar Wallet Baptist Church by November 4 th . He will pick them up from there. You can also call Gloria Newton at Antioch- Scottsville Baptist Church as they may also be participating in this event. If you need additional information or contact information let me know.
Many of our churches have Fall Festivals or other events to celebrate the season. If you have an event scheduled, let Austin Williams know so he can promote it on the JRBA website.
At this time, I am aware of three churches without pastors. Keep Mt. Zion, Buckingham, and Sharon Baptist churches in prayer as they seek a pastor to lead them in the days ahead.
